An ancient people with a revered heritage living lightly on the land have opened their home to visitors from the outside world. Only 45 miles from the Kingman Arizona Airport, the Hualapai Lodge is the doorway to this fabulous opportunity. Guests experience a white water rafting trip on the mighty Colorado River with guides whose lineage includes life on the river since before the European discovery of what was to become America. The hotel offers guests $25 off for rafting per person. They get to hear the oral history of a people who experienced the forced march to La Paz but managed to retain their language and culture to this very day. The Hualapai people have always been in this area of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado Plateau. Anthropologists have found evidence dating back a thousand years that indicates the presence of the Hualapai and their stories and legends have been handed down for many generations. visitors are can be treated to a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and a visit to the Grand Canyon at the West Rim inside the Hualapai Reservation.
